United Percussion World adds Jay Rodriguez to Front Ensemble Team

United Percussion and Arts, Inc. is excited to announce that Jay Rodriguez will be a part of our 2021 Staff as a Front Ensemble Technician for United Percussion World. Jay will continue to bridge the technique pedagogy and approach between UPW and UP2.

Jay is a marching percussion educator currently residing in Boston, MA where he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing at Suffolk University. Jay’s marching career began in 2011 as a member of the Rancocas Valley Regional High School marching band. His first experience with an independent group was as a member of the 2013 Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps front ensemble. For the 2014 WGI season, Jay joined United Percussion as a member of their front ensemble and served as the section leader for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Jay continued his drum corps career in 2016 joining Carolina Crown as a member of the front ensemble and continued through his age out in 2019 where he served as the section leader.

Jay has worked with various high school programs in the NJ area including Rancocas Valley High School, Edison High School and Old Bridge High School. Throughout his time in the activity, Jay has had the honor of learning from many talented instructors including Steve Ballard, Ian Hale, Jim Ancona, Thom Hannum, Iain Moyer, Marcus Neudigate, Alex Kluttz, Dave Osworth and Annie Chernow. Jay is excited to return once again to United Percussion and Arts and be able to give back to the entire organization through both programs.
