United Percussion World Welcomes Talen Burkett to Cymbal Instructional Team

United Percussion and Arts, Inc. is excited to announce that Talen Burkett will be a part of our 2022 Staff as a Cymbal Line Instructor for United Percussion World.

Talen’s marching career began as a charter member with Civitas Independent where he marched cymbals for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. In 2016, he spent his age-out year with Atlanta Quest on their cymbal line. He also performed with the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2015 season in the trumpet section.

Since aging out, Talen has worked with multiple programs across South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky area as a visual and cymbal instructor with his main ensembles being Audio Theater from 2017 to 2021 and McGavock High School from 2018 to 2020 and was on staff to see both groups be promoted to the next class in WGI. This will be his first season teaching the World cymbal line. 

Talen received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Strayer University and has recently relocated to New York City to pursue a career in the field of law. He currently works as an accountant for a hospitality group in Manhattan.
