Member Spotlight: Mason Satnick

I was able to join into a group of very skilled and talented people and to be accepted with open arms.

Mason is a first year vibraphone player who comes to us from South Brunswick High School. He was set to be part of their indoor drumline, until he found out that their 2016 indoor season was canceled. The next afternoon he was at United rehearsal auditioning and we are thankful to have him as part of the ensemble.

In addition to United, Mason is in the Honors choir at his high school and the Voices of Hope choir which is part of the Day By Day Hope Foundation helping families battling cancer. He hasn’t decided on a school yet, but he’ll be majoring in Computer Science. He’s also a big fan of Pentatonix and his favorite fruit is strawberries.

Here’s what Mason has to say about joining United:

I was able to join into a group of very skilled and talented people and to be accepted with open arms. They made me feel like I was part of their family, despite being brand new. If you like music, if you enjoy marching percussion, JOIN! Don’t let anything stop you from doing what you love. My high school’s drum line season was canceled last minute, but I didn’t let that stop me from doing what I love. I got out there, and I joined a group because I was determined to not let a season go by without competing.
