United Percussion 2 Announces Alex Beltran and Matt Blood Arrangers for 2022 Season
United Percussion and Arts, Inc. is excited to announce that Alex Beltran and Matt Blood will arrange the 2022 United Percussion 2 program, combining their talents to create a unified musical approach between our two performing ensembles. Read more about Alex and Matt below.
Alex Beltran is an active writer, teacher, performer, and clinician based in New England. He holds a Masters Degree in music history from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he also received an undergraduate degree in percussion performance. While at UMass, Alex has worked as teaching assistant to Thom Hannum, studied under Ayano Kataoka, and currently teaches and arranges for the UMass Minuteman Marching Band.
Alex is currently the Battery Coordinator for the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, where he handles the day to day teaching, equipment, and logistical needs of the battery. He is also the Battery Caption Head and Arranger for United Percussion World. Read more about Alex here.
Matt Blood is a marching arts designer, educator, and consultant based out of Southern New Jersey. He has worked with many marching bands, indoor percussion ensembles, and drum corps on the East Coast as the sole proprietor of mattbloodmusic.com. Currently, Matt holds the positions of Front Ensemble Coordinator/Arranger for the Hawthorne Caballeros, Front Ensemble Caption Head/Staff Arranger for the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights, Front Ensemble Arranger for the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps, and now Front Ensemble Caption Head for long-standing WGI World Class finalist United Percussion.
