Rich is a full-time percussionist and independent educator based out of Lancaster, PA. He graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Music Performance in 2013. His drum corps career began with the Reading Buccaneers in 2006 and lead to his age out with The Cadets Front Ensemble in 2010.
After aging out, Rich was a founding member and ensemble director of Lancaster PA based Portal Percussion trio. The group was established in 2011 and performed regularly throughout the country for more than five years. Highlights included achievement of a Silver Medal with the Princeton British Brass, commissioned works by Colleen B. Clarke and sharing the stage with world renowned percussionist, composer and educator Arthur Lipner. Rich has been a featured clinician for Percussive Arts Society, Pennsylvania’s Day of Percussion and a featured performer for New York’s Day of Percussion. In 2012 Rich joined the percussion staff of the Jersey Surf World Class Drum and Bugle Corp and has been a consecutive staff member for the past eight years. In 2013 Rich joined the United Percussion instructional staff and actively served the group on the instructional staff until 2015.
Currently Rich resides in Lancaster, PA where he maintains a professional performance schedule. He has a private teaching studio through Tone Tailors on the campus of Rock Lititz, Lititz PA, which houses the companies that serves the music industry’s top artists globally. Outside of a regular performance schedule, Rich is entering his ninth year in DCI on the Administrative Staff of the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps as the Assistant Director of Operations and his third year in DCA as the Sound Designer for the Hawthorne Caballeros, Hawthorne, NJ.
