An Important Annoucement: #LiftUP New Instrument Campaign
Now that we have completed all three audition dates and had our first camp weekend, we’d like to take this opportunity to keep you #UPdated with how we are doing as we move forward with season and how you can help us grow.
This year is special for us because of the addition of our second ensemble, United Percussion 2. UP2 will bring our total number of students in 2019 to 75, up from 40-45 in previous years. We have members from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and surrounding areas. The competitive season will see us performing before thousands of people around the country. Members cover most costs such as the cost of food, competition fees, transportation, housing, uniforms, props, and eight months of musical instruction by paying tuition and fees which can total upwards of $2100.
After 16 consecutive years of being a Finalist at WGI World Championships it is important for us to continue our expected level of excellence. To do this, our biggest challenge is to pay for the cost of a second set of instruments for our new ensemble. Our continued support from corporate sponsors helped to lay the ground work for the starting of the new ensemble, but we still need additional help. We are launching the 2019 New Instrument Campaign in conjunction with Giving Tuesday (November 27th) with a goal of raising $17,000 to pay for the cost of instruments. Our hope, is that you would be a part of celebrating the beginning of this special season with a $17 contribution to our New Instrument Campaign. We welcome donations in other amounts as well. To donate, simply click on the button at the bottom of this post. United Percussion and Arts, Inc. is a not for profit youth organization based out of Camden County, New Jersey and donations are tax deductible.
